The short version
Taplink originated in Russia and has been quietly building solid commerce features at lower USD price points than Beacons. It's particularly popular for small storefronts (think: catalog + payment). The downsides are a translated UI that can feel awkward and the same USD-pricing problem as everyone else for Indian users.

Pick Taplink if…
- You need a storefront-style multi-block layout (catalog + form + buttons)
- You're OK with USD billing and a less-polished English UI
- You sell internationally and just need a cheap landing page
Pick Linktrain if…
- You want a clean, fast page in INR
- You're building a brand and the UI polish matters
- You want native UPI Autopay and Indian-rupee invoicing
- You don't need a complex multi-block layout
I tried Taplink because it was cheap. The setup felt translated and confusing. Linktrain just made sense — I had my page up in 10 minutes.
Common questions
- Is Taplink really that much cheaper?
- On sticker price, yes — Taplink's $4/mo is cheaper than our ₹149. After FX and bank fees, Taplink is ~₹360 effective vs our ₹149. So Linktrain is still cheaper for Indian users.
- Why does Taplink feel awkward?
- Original product is Russian. English is good but not native — small phrasing weirdness throughout. If that doesn't bother you, the product itself is capable.
- Does Taplink have an Indian entity?
- No. They're a Belarusian-Russian company. No Indian invoicing, no INR billing, no India-specific support.
